NASA celebrates its 50th anniversary with a new web site powered by Prototype and script.aculo.us. The new site’s features include a calendar, image gallery, redesigned navigation, and fancy transitions and effects. Congratulations to NASA and the team at Critical Mass on a job well done.

I’m working with Prototype and script.aculo.us frameworks and very happy. Thank you guys for lot of work you do! But, Critical Mass with new NASA site it’s something ;-) 48 JavaScript files, 18 StyleSheets, 47 CSS background images. Very impressive performance (no gzip, no cache also)...
Wow, look at all those JavaScript and CSS files. Use Firebug’s Net tab and watch in amazement as all those files load. And none of it is set to be cached on the client’s side! It took 50 seconds for me to load the “For Students” page with a decent connection.
Has anyone taken a look at the source? Oi vey…
Performance is normal, earlier I used much worse things. Thanks!
Nice .. Article…
Good to see Prototype and script.aculo.us running everywhere.
